Community Based Program Expansion

The Community Based Program in Pleasant Hill opened on July 1, 2011, and meets on the vibrant campus of Diablo Valley College (DVC). Integrating with their community in an active and dynamic educational setting, many participants enroll in DVC courses and enjoy the diversity throughout the campus. Participants plan frequent educational field trips throughout the Bay Area using County Connection Transportation and BART trains. With access to the DVC Transit Center, the participants are able to network with local businesses for volunteer opportunities.

In September 2014, the Community Based Program expanded to have a second location in the Tri-Valley.  Based out of the town of Danville, the small town atmosphere provides an ideal environment for pursuing independence and enhancing social and educational aspirations. Participants meet at the Danville Library from where they embark on activities and classes in the surrounding San Ramon Valley.

Below are photos from recent outings of our current Community Based Program.

Circus Follow-up

RES SUCCESS presented “Alice in Woggle-land” on August 18, 2012, a production by the Willy Woggle Circus. What a success!! The Tatsumaki Taiko Drummers opened up with a bang, and the Willy Woggle Circus theatrical performance brought smiles & amazement to the crowd.  Carnival games & the dunk tank were fun for all, good food & drinks kept everyone feeling groovy. This first-ever event helped raise funds for RES program services, in response to the budget cuts over recent years.  Talk of an annual event is in the air…! Thanks to all who came and supported. And a special thank you to the Willy Woggle Circus and Tatsumaki Taiko Drummers for donating their services and creating such a spectacular show!  It was truly incredible! See the slideshow below.
